Are you feeling uncomfortable with where you are at but also feeling too overwhelmed to know where to start? Oh, do I know that feeling! It may give you a sense of relief to know that you are not alone. I have met several people who have felt the same way, myself included. You want to start moving but the whole idea of it feels scary.
The paths you have chosen in the past may feel like too much right now. And guess what? That’s ok. Why not try a different approach? Maybe even something simple. Simple can feel frustrating when you have been advanced in the past. But the basics never go out of style. Just remember, even advanced-level individuals go back and review the basics from time to time. Some of us forget to even learn the basics, so going back may end up feeling completely foreign to you.
I will say it again, “the basics will never go out of style.” You can always use them, and the best thing about them is you can use them anywhere. You find yourself at a hotel gym or somewhere that has zero equipment, basics are always there for you. Build or rebuild your foundation and everything else will be gravy.
There’s no need to complicate things. There is great skill and strength in regressing so you can progress. There is great strength in allowing yourself to be a beginner again or for the first time. There is pride in celebrating every step of the way even when they are small steps. Small steps end up being big steps and every step is worth celebrating.
